The City of Eagan does not issue general business licenses. Certain types of businesses need a license or permit from the City. Before opening a business within the City, please check with the Planning & Zoning division to confirm that City Zoning allows your proposed business at its planned location.

In efforts to better serve our community, we are transitioning to a new licensing and permitting portal on Monday, April 29.  The new online portal will provide 24/7 access to submit applications, check on statuses, request inspections, view results, and retrieve documents.

Contractors should look for an email in the coming weeks with a reference code to connect you to existing Eagan permit records.  Homeowners will need to create an account to apply for permits.
